HYDROMULCH & HYDROSEEDING

Hydroseeding and hydromulching are effective alternatives to traditional seeding processes, such as hand seeding, drill seeding and sod installations. Both of these methods are far more economical than laying turf and are able to reach inaccessible areas such as high slopes, in addition to producing thicker, healthier vegetation that adheres with the ground surface soil to protect against erosion and other factors. But while hydroseeding and hydromoulching are commonly used interchangeably, there are key differences in the practical applications of both.

A one step process that adds a fiber-mulch in addition to the mixture of seed, fertilizer, tackifier and water. The mulch is able to act as a protective cover for the seed, allowing it to retain moisture for quicker germination and plant growth, while protecting the soil and the seeds from erosion and the possibility of being washed away by rain. This slurry mix is applied with specially designed equipment that keeps the mixture agitated during the application process to ensure even coverage.

Uses water to carry seed and fertilizer in a mixture to be sprayed onto the seedbed. Specially designed hydroseeding equipment allows the operator to agitate the hydroseed mixture to ensure continuous agitation that allows even distribution onto the designated area where alternative seeding methods are not easily accomplished. Hydroseeding is the preferred way to plant grass in large and hard to access areas. The process is quick and cost effective, making it an ideal option for large-scale projects.
